meh...

Pretty close to losing my job at Pizza Pizza, not that I care really. It gives me the perfect excuse to get off my ass and find a writing job. I do need to get my portfolio together.

Mass Effect has been set for Q1 2007. In Bioware I trust.

One day I want to go to this.

Set up my comic buys for the month thanks to IGN C-Note.

Astonishing X-Men #17 - Marvel - $2.99
Writer: Joss Whedon | Artist: John Cassaday
Joss Whedon might defy logic sometimes (see the "Yeahbutwhat?" scene from last issue), but he and John Cassaday are always entertaining. We're entering the last leg of this classic X-Men run, but it's not too late to get started if you haven't already.

Civil War #4 -  Marvel  - $2.99
Writer: Mark Millar | Artist: Steve McNiven
Thor has returned and he's ready to kill someone. Mark Millar and Steve McNiven return after a series of delays to give us what is arguably the most captivating, and divisive, Marvel story in years. Issue #4 is right around the corner!

Wildcats: Worldstorm #1 - DC - $2.99
Writer: Grant Morrison | Artist: Jim Lee
It's Grant Morrison and Jim Lee. That's all we need to say. Go buy this comic.

Fables #53 - DC - $2.99
Writer: Bill Willingham | Artist: Mark Buckingham
The fate of Fabletown is decided in a meeting of the Adversary's generals. Will it be war? A series of assassinations? A tea party? We're privy to some chilling examples of what may befall Fabletown in the coming years. Plus, there's a backup story featuring art by the very talented Josh Middleton.

Uncanny X-Men #478 -  Marvel  - $2.99
Writer: Ed Brubaker | Artist: Billy Tan
Following the lackluster intermission issue, things are back on track. The crazy Summers brother is going to destroy everything that's had a hand in his horrible upbringing. And that means Corsair and the Shi'Ar Empire are in his sites.

X-Men #191 - Marvel - $2.99
Writer: Mike Carey | Artist: Chris Bachalo
It took a couple of issues, but Mike Carey and Chris Bachalo have propelled this book into the top tier of X-books, even above certain ones located in space. Carey has managed to take the typical "mystery villain" plot and make it interesting by giving us the oddest X-team in the history of the title. Add in some breathtaking action sequences by Bachalo and you have a winner.

Civil War: Front Line #6 -  Marvel  - $2.99
Writer: Paul Jenkins | Artist: Various
Front Line might seem less important than its bigger cousin because of its placement on our list, but trust us when we say it's just as good. Do not miss this book. It fills in a lot of details surrounding the registration battle that can't possibly be crammed into the main event. If you are enjoying Civil War then you will enjoy Front Line.

Nextwave #8 -  Marvel  - $2.99
Writer: Warren Ellis | Artist: Stuart Immonen
What can you expect from this issue? We can guarantee three things: Something will get kicked, things will explode, and you will laugh your ass off. Grant Morrison declared deconstructionism is dead in comics. This is the proof. KA-BOOM!!

Eternals #4 -  Marvel  - $3.99
Writer: Neil Gaiman | Artist: John Romita, Jr.
Do we really need more super-powerful beings in the Marvel Universe? Surely that was the question everyone had when they started to read the new Eternals series. Neil Gaiman has done a superb job of not only crafting a mystery around these beings, but has managed to insert his story right into the middle of Civil War. Gaiman and Romita, Jr. wanted readers to discover the Eternals as they read, and given the quality of the title so far, that's exactly what we are eager to do.

Stan Lee Meets Spider-Man -  Marvel  - $3.99
Writer: Stan Lee & Joss Whedon | Artist: Olivier Coipel
The concept of this series is just too good to ignore. To celebrate Stan Lee's 65th anniversary with Marvel, Stan and an assortment of modern creators are gathering to tell tales of Stan meeting some of his best creations. While Dr. Strange, Dr. Doom and others are all great, it would be insane to ignore Stan meeting Spider-Man. If you're looking for light-hearted fun (with a backup story by Joss Whedon) look no further.

Daughters of the Dragon: Samurai Bullets - Marvel - $15.99
Writer: Justin Gray & Jimmy Palmiotti | Artist: Khari Evans
If you dig Nextwave, but want a bit more T&A to go with the kicking and exploding, look no further than DOD. Khari Evans does wonders with Misty Knight and Colleen Wing. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll have improper thoughts about two-dimensional images. Good times.

I'm exited about the return of Alpha Flight, though it will be called Omega Flight now. Got the special edition of Soulfire #6 at the con, LOVE this series.

Got a package from Megagear today. I'm reworking my wordrobe to fit my true geeky nature. I'm tapping Thinkgeek as well. I got:

And a few knick-knacks, accesories and bling. More money is needed but eventually I'll have a fully geeked-out fashion going. Perfectly me.

Dinner needs attending to. God I love cooking.

Off on a business roadtrip sadly, I'll post upon return. Take care all!
