Okay here's the way I see it. Jesus liked Judas enough to make him an apostle, in fact he may have been favored. Jesus told Judas to go snitch on Jesus so Jesus could "die for our sins" (if that's what you believe, I don't personally). If that's true then the man we see as a traitor and a man deserving of his own special level of hell (read Dante's Inferno) was almost paramount to Jesus' plans. Perhaps we judge too quickly?
Maybe I should outline my belief structure sometime. Maybe tomorrow. Not right now... early class.
